Gosh, I can't believe summer is over! It seems as though it never even started. I guess that's what happens when you work all day and really only have the weekends to let loose. This summer was fun and I did a lot of things and went on a lot of trips. It started with my trip to Cambria at the end of May. We drove up the coast into Santa Barbara and went to some of the wineries out there. My favorite winery was Fess Parker. Then we continued on until we got to Cambria where we stayed at a bayside hotel that overlooked the ocean. It was gorgeous. The next day, we drove in to Paso Robles and went to a bunch of wineries in the area. Super fun and we found some really great wine. I also went to the river to do my most favorite thing - waterski, Alaska (see below), Vegas (a few times) and even tried mountain bike riding up in Mammoth (loved it, but came home with a few battle wounds). I ended the summer with a night in Vegas on Labor Day weekend. Nothing too exciting as I didn't win any money or come home married, but I did have fun drinking, dancing, and laying out by the pool while I practiced my people watching skills. Since then, I have decided to mellow out a bit. I am trying to lay low and get grounded again. Life seems to be so busy and I spend so much time running around. I have actually made a huge effort to do just the opposite. In the last week, I have started reading the Twilight series. Great book... I am almost done with the first one and I just bought the second one so that I won't have to wait to start reading it as soon as I am done with the first. Then last weekend, I spent the entire day hanging out with my lovely sister, Rebecca, and we colored, watched movies, and I even brushed up on my painting skills by trying a "paint by numbers" picture... 6 hours later and I still don't have a complete picture! I also took a bike ride with my dad from our house in Mission Viejo to my apartment in Irvine. 12.8 miles and we did it under an hour... oh, and did I mention that I was on my beach cruiser. Fun times! I am looking forward to this winter. I bought a new snowboarding outfit and I can't wait to use it!! Maybe I will see you on the slopes!

Secret Admirer???

Someone sent these beautiful flowers to my work today and the card was blank. I tried to call the flower shop to see who sent them, but they said they cannot reveal that information. Whoever sent them, THANK YOU! I love them! I wish I knew who they were from though.. that way I would enjoy them more!

Alaska

I just got back from spending a few days in Alaska. One of my friends that I have know since Jr. High was getting married and asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. I had a lot of fun while I was out there. We were very busy running around trying to get last minute items together for the wedding and stuff. I flew in on Tuesday night (really late) and was intrigued by the fact that it was still bright and sunny outside.... even at 1am. I lost track of time while I was out there because the sun never set once! To me, it was always about 4:00 in the afternoon. On Wednesday, we woke up and ran a few errands and then went to the dress rehearsal. The location was beautiful, but freezing cold. Thursday, we went to the Russian River which was about an hour away from Olivia's house. There is where we fished for Salmon. My fishing experience was cut short due to the fact that my waders had holes in them, so the freezing cold water quickly rushed in. I stood in the water for about a half hour trying to fish for salmon, but when my feet went numb, I got out and went and found the beer. I enjoyed watching everyone else fish and then bashing the salmon on the head with a rock to kill it. Fun times. Thursday night was the Rehearsal dinner. The food was fabulous. There was a little drama that night with one of the groomsmen and Olivia, but they seemed to work it out the next day. Friday came quickly and that was the big day. Olivia and I rushed around dropping of last minute items at the reception hall and then going to get our hair and nails done and then getting dressed and off to take pictures. I hated my hair. I looked like a freak from the 80's. I could have curled my own hair, but I assumed that the hair dressers would know what they were doing, so I trusted them... NEVER AGAIN! It was horrible! Olivia looked beautiful though. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and intimate and the site over looked the ocean. It was really nice... But EXTREMELY cold and we were in strapless dresses! The reception lasted well into the night and then we ended up back at Olivia and Jed's house where we played countless games of beer pong. I had never played before, so this was a very amusing time for all! I had a lot of fun though. As I mentioned earlier, you lose track of time when the sun never sets, so here we were at 9am finally deciding it was time to go to bed. Needless to say, I was exhausted waking up 2 hours later to go to brunch!!!! After a few hours at brunch, I decided to go lay down and take a nap... that was pretty much the end of the day for me as I spent the rest of the day sleeping. Sunday, I woke up, packed, helped Olivia and Jed clean the house and then went to the airport to fly home. Overall, the week was fabulous. Alaska is beautiful! We never did get to go white water rafting due to the high water levels. I hope to make it back to Alaska soon. Maybe in March for some snowboarding. We'll see.

It took two people to make my hair look that ugly!

Vegas

So, this last weekend, me and my co-workers, Sophia and Milan, and Milan's roommate, Renzi, went to Vegas. I must say, It was a lot of fun. We got there Saturday afternoon and met up with some of Renzi's friends. Then we went to the pool at the MGM and hung out there for a few hours, had a few beers, and chilled. After that, we went back and got ready while the guys went and lost some money. We ended up at Tao and Tao Beach for the night. I was a lot of fun. If you get a chance to go to Tao Beach, you should. I enjoyed being outside by the pool in fresh air instead of crammed in the hot sweaty room down stairs. After we left Tao, we went and walked around the casinos. At this point, mine and Sophia's feet were killing us! I believe we finally made it back to the room around 4:30am. Sunday, we went to 40/40 and hung out in our own lounge room and watched the game. Then we drove home... Traffic sucks! Next time, I think I am going to fly out to Vegas again... I hate driving there now that I have flown out there.

Here are some pictures from the weekend....

Hollywood Nights

Here are some pictures from last weekend in Hollywood... Fun Times with some great people!

New Blog

So, here I am... starting a new blog. I know it's kinda boring right now, but hopefully I will keep up with it and post some new stuff every now and then. I guess I can honestly say that life is pretty random at times. People come in and out of your lives all the time, but only few who really impact you and your character... hopefully for the better. Over the last three months, I feel like I have grown as an individual more than ever before. I am figuring out who I am and what it is that I want in life. I am pretty optimistic about the realizations that I have come to. Hopefully I can continue to grow in my career, my friendships, and my own individuality and become the person that I strive to be. Life can be tough, but it also has it's many blessings...
